The Diary of Kasturi Venkataramayya: An Indian in Victorian England

The Diary of Kasturi Venkataramayya, is a record made by an Indian gentleman in London in the early 1860s.

The account is in the form of letters to the author's brother in Madras and includes details of the long journey by sea to England, as well as the adventures he has in London, the growing metropolis and capital of the empire.

It is a fascinating account of life in Victorian London and all the more interesting as the view of an outsider observing the British at home.
