'Nowadays, society, especially young people, are more accepting of women’s bodily autonomy. That being said, media, especially tabloids, thrive on the misogynistic objectification of women profiting off terrorising celebrities and their choices'.
Youth Cabinet, 2022
The 1922 trip was considered a great event and covered in many newspapers. In this article from the Manchester Evening Chronicle, Gwendolen Roberts from Westleigh, is surprised to see how the London girls dressed. Gwendolen thinks that their skirts are too short and the material far too thin. Youth Cabinet were impressed by the young people in 1922 not being afraid to voice their opinions and not pretending to like something they don't. However, Youth Cabinet don't agree with Gwendolen's opinion and felt that young girls like Gwendolen are being conditioned into associating someone’s morality with their skirt length.
