Image of Leigh Grammar School Girls who were inter schools champions pictured with the Higginbottom trophy.  The image was taken behind the Guest bakery on Manchester Road.   The girls are l-r:- Joan Fallen, Lesley Howarth, Lesley Evans, Valerie West, Pat Thornton and Marlene Clare.  All were members of Leigh Harriers.  Lesley Evans (later Richards) became editor of the Leigh Journal.
