Sir Roger Bradshaigh can be seen in the painting with his wife, Lady Bradshaigh. The painting was produced in 1746 by Edward Haytley. Unlike his predecessors, Sir Roger Bradshaigh did not get embroiled in any kind of politics. He died on the 29 September 1770 aged 71 and was buried in the Bradshaigh chapel in Wigan Parish Church.
The Bradshaighs were a notable family in Wigan and they developed commercial coal mining on the Haigh estate.
