Marie Ault waving from an aeroplane. Marie Ault was an actress born in Wigan in 1870. She starred in many stage plays and silent films. Her most famous part was in the 1922 play ‘East of Suez’. She played the ‘Amah’ or nanny. Ault also starred in the 1927 Alfred Hitchcock film The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog.
