Workers in the Mule Room, Taylor Mill, Miry Lane, Wigan. In this photograph the mill is decorated for the Coronation of King George VI in May 1937. Notice that all but one of the apprentices is barefoot, this was normal practice in many local mills. The lad leaning on the post in the middle row is Vincent Waring.
