Dorothy Scholes was a nursing sister at Exeter Military hospital during The First World War.

She encouraged soldiers she was nursing to write down their experiences in her book.

This diary is part of the Edward Hall Diary Collection and was professionally conserved in 2015 thanks to a grant from the National Manuscripts Conservation Trust.
