Postcard believed to have been sent from Leigh Prisoner of War Camp during the First World War.

The sitting soldier on the left wears a special badge for the 'Kaiserpreis', the number on which is thought to read '179'. '179' was a saxon infantry regiment. The first company were awarded the badge in 1913.

The sender of the postcard gives his name and rank as Gefreiter der Reserve (Private Army Reserve) Fritz Möser, whereas a Friedrich Möser of IR 179 is given as taken prisoner in the official records: http://des.genealogy.net/search/show/1518051 . The only Gefreiter on this postcard is the soldier sitting to the right of the one wearing the 'Kaiserpreis' badge. The buttons he wears to the left and right sides of his collar, and the lower cockade on his cap indicates that he belongs to the reserve.
