Steam traction engine pulling a large grinder body casting made by John Grundy Ltd, Ironfounders of Tyldesley, circa 1915. Made for the Churchill Machine Tool Company. This grinder was said to be for finishing periscope tubes for submarines. The steam traction engine was used to haul the grinder to its destination as there were no petrol wagons powerful enough haul a 15 tonne load at the time.
