Photocopy of an article from the Leigh Journal about the erection of a memorial on the grave of Fusilier Wilhelm Schmidt who was shot during an attempted escape from the Leigh POW camp on 31st May 1915 and of his comrade, Wilhelm Hofschild who died at the camp on 26th November 1915.
