Funeral procession of Mr P Wilkinson, Bedford Square, Leigh, May 1911. The coffin is carried on a gun carriage drawn by two horses and draped with a Union Jack. Two men in uniform lead the procession and a number of carriages presumably containing mourners follow. There are people lining the street and standing their gardens watching the procession pass. Mr Wilkinson died aged 80. He lived at 22 Bedford Square and was a veteran of the Crimea and Indian Mutiny. He was buried with full military honours in Leigh Cemetery.
