Marble statue of Aphrodite, 2nd century AD

This sculpture of the Greek goddess of love was made in the classical style in Egypt. Egyptians combined foreign gods with their own to make them more acceptable. Aphrodite was combined with Isis, the Egyptian mother goddess.
